Are there any extras to be added to the price you quote?
Yes you should allow for an extra 10% on the purchase price to cover VAT, local taxes and legal fees.

Can I take my dog or cat with me?
Yes provided there is proof of all necessary inoculations and microchips dogs and cats are allowed into Spain. You will however need to apply for a Pet Passport to allow your pet re-entry to the U.K. without going into quarantine.

How is payment made?
Most builders will ask for an initial payment of €3000. This will reserve the plot and secure the price. He will also arrange for a schedule of payments, these may vary but generally you will be asked to pay a further 10% of the purchase price within one month and the balance of 50% within three. The remainder is payable on completion.

Is there health care available?
Yes the NHS in Spain is of a very high standard and freely available to retired English residents. There are various private medical health insurances available, which are reasonably priced compared with some other countries.

Will I be able to draw my pension in Spain?
Yes the DWP will give you the necessary forms and in the case of private pensions contact your insurer.

Will I be able to work in Spain?
Yes as Spain is part of the European Union there are no restrictions.

Will I have to find my own solicitor?
No my associates in Spain will introduce you to both an English speaking Lawyer and Bank Manager who will be happy to discuss mortgage facilities should you require them.
